“Understand the Assignment!”

For thirty-two years, I worked as an educator. During a portion of the time, I taught different subject matter. My teaching career began with teaching students with various disabilities. To ensure student comprehension of the concepts taught, I always found it necessary to know that each student would “Understand the Assignment!” It won’t be easy to succeed until one understands the assignment they are to carry through.

One day in conversation with someone, the person commented on understanding assignments. That was a prompt for me to write this post. During our lifetime, we have many assignments given to us. Some by family members, spouses, and employers, to name a few. But have you ever thought about the assignments given to us spiritually? God gives us various tasks throughout our time on this earth. Accordingly, each project comes with different instructions, which we may or may not heed. But, most importantly, we all must “Understand the Assignment!”

Therefore, if we are to be successful in our relationships with others, we, without a doubt, assuredly must “Understand the Assignment!” God has given us in a particular relationship. Have you ever thought about why some of your relationships are messy or difficult? Maybe just maybe, God didn’t intend for it to be lasting. Despite what we may want, God’s plans may be entirely different. Your presence in the other person’s life could be only to draw them into the knowledge of Christ or to save their life from some catastrophe. Whereas you are looking for more, God is not in terms of the relationship being more than a soul-saving initiative. Wow! that is deep even to me.

Lastly, if you are troubled, heartbroken, or have disappointment or frustration about things happening in your life, please understand if you are a child of God, that comes first, and everything else is secondary. There is a plan for each of our lives with an attachable assignment; we all must “Understand the Assignment!” Then and only then, by the grace of God, we can do God’s will with understanding, peace, and joy! A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. Proverbs 18 2. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Just for Today!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

    Love This!
Made me think of the quote “People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.”
You said it all in “”There is a plan for each of our lives with an attachable assignment; we all must “Understand the Assignment!” Then and only then, by the grace of God, we can do God’s will with understanding, peace, and joy!””
Thank you for sharing these powerful, enlightening, and thought-provoking words.
May God continue to bless, keep and direct you, and each one of us, in our “assignments” in our journey of life, both on the spiritual and the natural.
