Relationships will have their ups and downs, trials and joys—just a simple fact of life. But some relationships need more stability than others. If two friends cannot get along, the relationship may go sideways, but that is not the end of the world. In most cases, they will go their separate ways and be fine. However, the relationships of the heart are a different matter. Individuals in serious relationships or marriages most likely want to work things out. Nevertheless, very challenging and rocky relationships may cause one or both individuals to say the relationship is “Too Broken For Repair!”
Accordingly, could that be the case? Are some relationships too broken for any repair? Is there any significant “fix” that can cause a restoration of love? Some may wonder if the cost of their personal feelings is worth risking. How much is enough? Additionally, are sacrifices that are made even worth the trouble? One may think the relationship is “Too Broken For Repair!” We all have heard the saying which goes somewhat like this: Anything worth having is worth the fight. Do you believe that? Should we muster up all our strength and fight to restore relationships dear to us?
Hence, I ask you, my dear sisters, to think about a relationship you may presently be in or one in the past. Be it a serious long-term relationship with a significant other or a marriage. Are you struggling, or in the past, did you struggle to stay afloat and make it work? Did you consider the cost if you two part ways? Easier done if you are single, but being married -a whole different story. Most married people want their marriage to survive, and they should. Although, some come to crossroads and feel it is “Too Broken For Repair!”
Let me end with this word of solid encouragement. Fight, Fight, Fight to hold onto your marriage commitment “for better or for worse.” Is it easy to do? No. The hardest part is when you are fighting alone because the other person has no desire to work toward any solution of restoration. But you pray and fight with all the inner strength you can muster with God’s help. Don’t stop praying or trusting God. Hold on to even the smallest, thinnest string of hope. Be encouraged if this post speaks to you because your relationship is not “Too Broken For Repair!” with Godly intervention. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 2 Corinthians 5:18. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Love and Affection!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
