“Abundant Rain!”

There is a saying that April showers bring May flowers, and most of us love beautiful flowers. However, when rain is scarce, vegetation and flowers are often not as plentiful, although they are still present. Furthermore, just the thought of something lacking abundance signals that there is no overflow. And don’t we all love overflow? Hence, as a society, people often feel they never have enough of anything, even when they do. But it goes back to the desire to have abundance, which is technically more than we need. “Abundant Rain!”

Well, let’s look at relationships. In relationships, we desire abundant love, support, caring, and attention from the other individual/s in the relationship. We can never have more than enough of those attributes. Our innate desire is to love and have love from others. Anyone who says they don’t want to feel the love of others is not telling the truth. Also, accordingly, we serve a God of abundance, not scarcity. God will give us a whole, meaningful, overflowing life when we seek Him and live for Him. “Abundant Rain!”

As I conclude, be reminded of the story of Elijah (1 Kings chapters 17 and 18). When there was no dew nor rain by God’s Word for three years, God told Elijah to show himself to Ahab. You can read the story, but 1 Kings 18:41 sums it up and will be my closing scripture. Knowing that God can send abundance whenever things in your life appear scarce. No drought is too much for Him. Without a doubt, He can renew relationships that seem dead and supply needs and resources that have run low. Nothing is too hard for our awesome God. Do you hear it? I do. I hear the sound of “Abundant Rain!” And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. 1 Kings 18:41. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Cover My Thoughts!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!
