On Sunday, May 19, 2024, I facilitated a program called “You Touched My Life!” This program allows individuals to honor people who have touched their lives. Although I set up the program as a pastoral appreciation fundraiser, it goes way beyond that. Each recipient receives a certificate of acknowledgment that shows they have touched someone’s life. This year, seventy-four individuals are honored for touching the lives of participants in the program. More than one person honored some honorees, which yielded 97 presentations (although some were not in attendance).
Experiencing the heartfelt stories and kind deeds shared during the “You Touched My Life!” program is truly invigorating. The room was full of tears, smiles, and laughter as we celebrated the impact of these individuals. The joy on the honorees’ faces is a true testament to the power of appreciation. In a world where recognition of kind deeds is often uncelebrated and unappreciated, this program reminds us of the value of our actions. ‘You Touched My Life!‘
In today’s society, many thoughtless acts gain attention, but more focus needs to be on the good deeds of others. Simple acts of kindness and sweet words of encouragement go a long way in brightening someone’s day. Relationships strengthen when we take the time to say thank you. No act or deed is too small to be appreciated; small deeds often significantly impact our lives. “You Touched My Life!” This week, tell someone that they have touched your life and let them know you are so grateful. Look for smiles and maybe even tears, but most of all, look for the joy that will flood your heart because you made someone else smile.
And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. Luke 8:46. This powerful scripture reminds us of the profound impact we can have on each other’s lives. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Listen With Intention!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
Sister Jackie
It was truly an awesome, beautiful, insightful, and heartwarming program! It was a blessing to me personally, to simply witness the outpouring of love, kindness, and appreciation acknowledged for others by all participants.
And may our loving God continue to bless, lead, and keep You Sis Jackie as you touch the lives of many, in all that you do to encourage others to elevate the showing of God’s Love in showing love, kindness, and appreciation to others!
Thank you, Sis. Audrey, for your kind words and unconditional support. You have certainly touched my life in so many ways. I appreciate the encouragement more than words can express. May our loving God keep you sheltered in His loving arms with abundant blessings from above.
