“Women’s History Month!”

March is “Women’s History Month!” There are so many great women doing great things. I want to discuss one woman who shaped my life. That is my mom, Elvera Crawford. She passed in 2015, but her legacy lives on with me forever. She taught me to love and what it is to be loved. Furthermore, I always felt special as the only girl of six children. Mom taught me to cook, clean, and how to take care of a husband, children, and home. Those things are significant.

Nevertheless, her greatest lessons have led me to become a woman of God. She was a prayer warrior. Her prayers were powerful, and over her lifetime, many called upon her to pray for them. Subsequently, my friends and many former staff members called her mom. What a blessing that God chose her for me and for her to be such a support to many. Foundationally, I am grateful for the training I received from her at a young age. She taught me about true Holiness. “Women’s History Month!”

As I conclude, although she is no longer here with me physically, I sometimes ask her to speak to God on my behalf. Hence, I don’t know if she can do that, but if she can, I know she would as she looks over me. One day, I look to see her again. Additionally, she will praise God as we all will when we make it to the other side. I love you, Mom, today, tomorrow, and forever. Thank you, God, for allowing me the most incredible opportunity to meet and love my mom.

Even after the doctor told her, she would never live to give birth to me. We both lived, and she spent 83 years on this earth. Happy “Women’s History Month!” my sisters. Respond to this post if you want to shout out any great women. We would love to read about them. She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms. Proverbs 31:17. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Distance Over Speed!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

Sister Jackie

Beautiful words about your mother! 💕
For this blog celebrating “Women’s History Month”, I am shouting out a dear friend of mine that also transitioned from this life several years ago. Her name is Lula Hodges, and, she, to me, was a phenomenal, strong, wise, genuine woman, and a loving mother to her children, and it was always family first with her. She was an LPN and we met while working at a hospital. I am so grateful to God for having allowed not only our paths to cross, but our hearts to meet in a bond of genuine lifelong love and care for one another. Although she was old enough to be my mother, our relationship was as best girlfriends. She told me that I was the best friend that she ever had, that she often felt closer to me than anyone else in her life. Just goes to show that age is just a number, especially when it comes to true genuine friendships. I know that it was God that established our lifelong friendship, and to Him I am truly grateful for it. For the memories of our friendship, to me, are priceless!!!
God Bless you Sister Jackie for you too are a phenomenal women, I know not only to myself, but many others see you as the phenomenal woman that you are.🌹
