“When the Pain No Longer Hurts!”

What is pain? We can define pain as physical or mental suffering or discomfort, which illness, injury, or an individual may inflict. With that definition in mind, it all boils down to a feeling that we never want to experience, but so often, we do. Just a matter of life! This post comes via inspiration from a conversation I had with one of my sisters-Brenda. Recently, a dear aunt of hers went on to be with the Lord. I knew her personally as a great woman of God. The eulogist gave a message about pain not hurting anymore, and I thought, wow!- it made me think. Pain can knock us to the ground! But, we can get to the place, “When the Pain No Longer Hurts!”

So, how do we get to that place? Think about your life and the heartache, disappointments, and grief you may have experienced due to emotional pain. Pain hurts, and sometimes I believe that the pain of a broken heart can be just as devasting as physical pain or worse. Emotional pain can bring on disease and even lead to death because of the intense stress. My heart has broken to the point where the pain was so hurtful along this journey of life. I didn’t see any healing. Have you ever been there? But, I can personally say I know a place, “When the Pain No Longer Hurts!”

Consequently, when pain comes via the one who should be close to us, loving, honoring, and upholding us, it can be devastating when we experience the opposite. The pain may appear to be without an end. But, we must remember that the purpose of pain is to signal when something is not correct. That signal should encourage us to seek attention to remedy the situation. If our body aches with pain, we notify a doctor to give us medication to relieve the pain, so the body part no longer hurts. When our spirit breaks and our heart aches, we must go to our heavenly Father for a remedy. Will the painful deeds be erased? No, but God will take us to a place, “When the Pain No Longer Hurts!”

In like manner, one day, death will lose its sting and no longer have victory over us. Until that day, know that pain can lose its sting. Therefore, we must not let pain rule our hearts and mind. Know that you can shake it off through Christ Jesus. Together we are more than conquerors. Today, let nothing shake you nor hurt you, no matter what it is. Don’t allow past or present pain to rule you. If only for today, speak peace and encourage someone else by telling them there is a place, “When the Pain No Longer Hurts!” O death, where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory? 1 Corinthians 15: 55. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Am I a Fool?”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

Good Morning Woman of God. This is such a encouraging and true Blog. I have learned that the truth (The Word of God or A confessional truth to yourself) is a pain reliever. I have been dealing with a situation for years and wouldn’t acknowledge my true feelings to myself and spoke in denial to others when it was spoken of. BUT when I acknowledged and spoke my true feelings about the matter it was such a relief and a freeing moment. God does let us know that “The Truth will Make Us Free” and I appreciate the lesson I learned from My Truth Experience. Thank you for keeping the reminder that “Pain No Longer Hurts”

Yes, the Word of God and acknowledging the truth will set us on a course of relief and freedom. I am so glad that you took steps to free yourself from pain. We must put in the work ( faith without works is dead)! God bless you, my sister, and may the grace and sustaining hand of God keep you free! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts.

This is a very informative subject and truly I thank you for sharing. When you said “Pain hurts, and sometimes I believe that the pain of a broken heart can be just as devastating as physical pain or worse. Emotional pain can bring on disease and even lead to death because of the intense stress”, it brought to mind that there is a medically acknowledged condition called “Broken Heart Syndrome”, so, suffering from a broken heart, its physical pain, is a real thing. If not untreated it can have tragic results. “Broken heart syndrome is a temporary and reversible heart condition whose symptoms mimic those of a heart attack. Unlike a heart attack, broken heart syndrome happens when a sudden physical or emotional stress causes a rapid weakening of your heart muscle.”(It’s reversible unless left untreated).
Most of my life, I have heard the phrase “they died from a broken heart”, and thought it was just a philosophical statement until learning this, for I personally know someone in my family that was hospitalized and given this diagnosis.
But God already acknowledged that because we love and care in our emotions, that a broken heart is a real problem that we may incur, and, I know this to be true for mine has been healed many times, and as I continue life, I know it can be broken and “healed” again…and, I know I am not alone in experiencing situations in life that causes our hearts to be broken.
So I truly Thank God that he is a healer, and in His Word He promises to “heal the broken heart”, and unlike mankind, God keeps ALL of His promises.
Thank you again for sharing eye-opening words of encouragement.

Yes, I know of the “Broken Heart Syndrome.” It is real. But, I too am grateful that we serve a God who keeps all His promises, and He promised to heal the brokenhearted. Thank you so very much for sharing with us concerning Broken Heart Syndrome. May God’s grace and mercy keep your heart merry and joyful! God bless you!
