“What If?”

“What If?” we could change things we don’t like or hurt us in our lives or relationships. Would we want to change everything? Subsequently, would it make our life more pleasing to us? The most crucial aspect would be how it would help our relationship with God. As I write this post the day after Inauguration Day, I think of many things I wish could change.

First and foremost is the state of our country. The new administration is far from what our country needs. But, one thing I know assuredly is that God remains above all and is the dominant force above all forces. He is all-powerful. Therefore, in reality, we need to trust the sovereignty of God and not ask, “What If?” when things get hard and beyond our limited understanding.

Yes, our relationships along the way may cause us some pain and distress, or for some individuals, the relationships they desire do not come to fruition. However, “What If?” God allowed everything we want to go our way. Our lives would indeed be a disaster. Why? Because God knows the plans He has for us. Plans to prosper us and not harm us in any way.

Lastly, if God gave us everything we want we would not pray as much. Let’s be for real. If our election had yielded a different President, I genuinely believe people would not feel the anxiety many are feeling right now. Even though no president or government has yielded perfection, some cause much too much destruction. And with destruction comes more persistent prayers from those feeling the effects.

My brothers and sisters, instead of asking, “What If?” let’s trust God no matter what anything looks, feels, or appears to be. “What If?” we didn’t have a Savior. I cannot even fathom how our lives would be. Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? Psalm 10:1. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Jesus Will Fix It!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

Amen, Sister Jackie! You are correct, What if? , Is a phrase we should not use and one that I don’t want to even imagine, especially life without a Savior! Things would be much worst than ever! I am encouraged to know that God has a purpose and a plan for our lives! In that, I am encouraged to keep on, keeping on, no matter what!

Yes, we must be encouraged to keep moving forward and give thanks to God in all things because it is His will concerning us. May God bless you and keep you in His loving care.
