Have you ever asked yourself, “What Can I Do?” when life throws us curveballs and sends us on a rollercoaster? We may ask ourselves that question. Time has a way of altering many aspects of our lives, including relationships. Hence, what was once solid may be shaky and scary. As I have stated in other posts, we can’t control our lives or our pathways. Yes, wrong decisions can alter the course of many plans and desires we have. But ultimately, God remains in control. So, “What Can I Do?”
In essence, all we can do is live as correctly as possible to the best of our ability. And trust God in all situations. Without a doubt, God is our only hope in these turbulent times. Recently, I had the most wonderful time celebrating one of my nephews’ college graduation. He is and has always been a respectable, intelligent, and great individual. Seeing him and the other five hundred or so graduates receive their degrees is so heartwarming. I recall standing in that place many moons ago. Now, many of them will go on to great jobs. At the same time, others will continue their education in graduate programs. Nevertheless, with a sigh of relief, they can now think about how to enjoy their newfound freedom from studying.
Life brings us to different places, some good, some bad, at various times. We have left a job, a long-term relationship, or have experienced other life changes. In some instances, we did not ask for the changes. But let me leave this with you. You may be unsure about what to do next. Or where to turn. Due to different circumstances or changes in your finances, relationships, or health. Turn your focus on God, consult Him, and ask for His direction and leading.
As I end, to those of you who know school graduates, regardless of their educational level. If they ask in boredom, “What Can I Do?” Wisely, tell them to ask God. He will always give the best answer. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. John 15:7. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Stand Firm!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
Sister Jackie
Thank you for that encouraging Word this morning. We will stand still and know that God is God, and He will see us through.
Amen! He will always be there for us, and I am so glad about it! God bless and smile upon you in all that you do, Mother Edwards.
