Last week’s post spoke about making it to the other side of whatever you are going through. Today, I encourage you not to let the rough spots of your journey cause you to lose faith and trust in God. My mother would say on occasion, the things we worry most about don’t happen. Even if they do, it’s better to “Wait and See!” the outcome. The mind is not only a terrible thing to waste, but it can conjure up so many things to throw us off course. Trusting God in this season takes on a whole new meaning. We cannot afford to let seeds of doubt enter our minds. Therefore, before you speculate or imagine how situations will unfold, stop and pray. When we pray, our whole mindset changes and moves toward God’s goodness, away from negativity.
Accordingly, God has a plan for us that only He knows, and it is not to harm us. Yes, we will struggle at times, encounter difficult situations, but trouble will not always last. If your money is lacking, your health is not good, or your relationships are suffering, to name a few, that’s life. As Peter in the bible said, ” Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you… “ God is yet in control, my dear sisters. He already knows what we all are going through. Hence, every tear is seen, and every cry or groan, He can hear. Fear not, keep holding on, so when the victory is won, you can rejoice openly. “Wait and See!’ the good things God has in store for us all.
As I conclude, please keep in mind that for the runner to win the prize, he or she must remain in the race. Without a doubt, no pain, no gain. Despite what a situation looks like or feels like, keep pressing forward, keep running, keep holding on to God’s unchanging hand. Furthermore, do not allow anyone to take away your trust and belief in God’s promises. Negativity from others can be damaging to one’s own self-confidence. It matters not who the person is; if they are doubting on your behalf, you don’t need them in your inner circle. It’s tight, but it’s right.
Remember when doubters left the room when Jesus was in prayer for someone? Clear out those doubters from your space. Then “Wait and See!” as the goodness of God unfolds. But the end of all things is at hand: be ye sober, and watch unto prayer. 1 Peter 4:7. I’ll return next week with a new post, “How Do You Cope?”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
Sister Jackie
Love it! First I love what your Mother said, “the things we worry most about don’t happen. Even if they do, it’s better to “Wait and See!”, and that is so true. My brother use to tell me when we were children, that I worried too much about what might happen, that I might make it happen. And also, as a former Track team runner, this also stood out to me, “for the runner to win the prize, he or she must remain in the race”. For, in running to win a race, a runner’s sight is totally focused on making it to the finish line. But, they want to finish the race no matter how they place. Running, for some, helps in teaching “endurance” – staying the course, at least for me it did. But most of all, I truly thank God for increasing my faith in Him and my knowledge of Him, and, He is yet teaching me how to wait on Him. For in Him alone am I able to “Wait and See” when I need to the most.
Thanks again Sister Jackie for sharing these powerful thoughts to ponder and reflect upon. I truly enjoyed reading this. They have truly blessed me in enriching my thinking today! And may God help us to continue to wait on Him, and see Him turn things out in our favor!💕
Amen! I love your thoughts on this, Sis. Audrey. And I love what your brother said. We can worry so much until we make something happen. My dad used to say, “If you look for a booga, you will find one.” We have to stop worrying and speaking negatively. Our words have so much power, and I believe our thoughts do too! God bless you, woman of God, and may God’s grace continue with you.
