“Time For A Life Check-up!”

When I am writing this post, I am almost to the end of my spring cleaning. I give my home a check-up two times a year and see what I need to get rid of or replace. Is it time-consuming? Yes, but the aftermath is so refreshing. The house feels wonderfully light after getting rid of unnecessary articles and then dusting, waxing, mopping, etc. It’s “Time For A Life Check-up!”

On another note, I have a regular scheduled physical exam yearly for my health check-up. My primary care physician does a more thorough physical exam to assess my health status. Without regular physical exams, diseases and other ailments may creep into our bodies. Just like our bodies and houses need regular check-ups, do you think our lives need regular assessments? I believe so. “Time For A Life Check-up!”

Despite the everyday busyness of trying to manage our families, resources, jobs, etc., we must allow time for inner introspection. Looking within ourselves benefits the outside of us. What do I mean? To have better relationships with others, we should regularly assess our character traits, personality, demeanor, and general being. As we grow older, we change in so many ways. Situations that were not disturbing when we were younger may become unbearable as we grow and mature. For example, do you find your patience meter pointing to low patience tolerance? “Time For A Life Check-up!”

In conclusion, because we are human, we are changing daily. Some changes are vital to our well-being, while others may work to our detriment. Take a few minutes today to look in the mirror. What do you see? Do you like the person looking back at you? If not, it may be “Time For A Life Check-up!” For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Psalm 139:4. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Take A Stand!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

Love, Love, Love this!! It’s so timely for “me”!
There have been many times, in my life, that I have needed to, and had to, de-clutter, re-process and reset my “thought process”, just to make necessary changes, or to be able to keep moving effectively and productively. But honestly, many times I lacked the vital “motivation” to move “period”! But, as you have pointed out, the need first has to be recognized, assessed and acknowledged. Then it takes work, and effort / motivation, to manage, because if we don’t get the “check-up”, we may not know that we have a problem or specifics on how to manage it or change it. And, the pandemic truly threw me and others off-track even moreso in our motivations – no joke….Life happened!!!” But, All Thanks be unto our God, that the train is yet salvageable!!!
Truly I appreciate and thank you for being so real about real-life situations, and for sharing these much needed, timely words of encouragement, for it is vital helpful information.

    – This, “Time For A Life Check-up!”, to me, truly is a Total-being survival alert!
    Thanks again for sharing this!

Thank you so much for your honest and thoughtful comments. And yes, the train is always salvageable when we have Christ in our life. No train wreck is too hard for him to salvage. God bless you, and may the God of our salvation keep us all on track!
