What a beautiful time of the year we are in! Oh, how I love the meaning and the beauty of Christmas. This wonderful season brings us the birth of our blessed Messiah, the light of this world. Therefore, it is easy for us to fall in love with the many beautiful displays of lights we see. This season is “The Season of Lights!” For this reason, our hearts and minds should be full of joy and light. Some people don’t believe in Christmas trees and colorful decorations, but I do. Knowing this is true would take only one peek into my house. Assuredly, I love decorating for Christmas, and I know the reason for the season. “The Season of Lights!”
How does all of this keep with my overall theme of relationships? Well, if there ever is a time to connect with our Savior, this is the time. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, we should connect with Him even more. Think about when you celebrate someone’s birthday. Don’t you express your love and kindness toward them in actions and gifts? The greatest gift we can give to Jesus is our committed love and service to Him. What joy it will express. A light will shine within us if He dwells within. “The Season of Lights!”
Lastly, let someone know that you love and appreciate them during this joyful season. If you have animosity, be the big person and apologize, for we all play some part in conflicts. Furthermore, this is an excellent time to renew friendships, strengthen relationships, and let our light shine as brightly as the Christmas lights that adorn our homes, workplaces, and just about everywhere we go. I don’t know who started the tradition of Christmas lights adorning trees and other places, but they certainly make me smile. I love “The Season of Lights!” For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: Ephesians 5:8. I’ll return next week with a new post, “It’s Christmas Eve!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
