“Thank God for the Trees!”

Have you ever thought about trees’ significance, or do you admire the many varieties of trees? Trees come in many sizes and shapes. Some are very beautiful with glorious leaves upon them, while some may be dwarfs and even scary looking. Nevertheless, trees are essential to our life and well-being. Trees are the largest plants on the earth, and they give us needed oxygen, stored carbon, stabilize the soil and support wildlife. Because trees are the longest living species on the planet, they link us to the past and the future. Thank God for the Trees!

Henceforth, we can all agree that trees are essential to our well-being. Let’s go a little further. Are you familiar with the story of Zacchaeus, the tax collector? If not, you can find his story in Luke 19:1-10. I want to focus on one aspect of Zacchaeus’ journey to see Jesus. Zacchaeus was a little stature man who desired to see Jesus, but he could not because of the crowd’s magnitude and physical limitation. So, he did the only thing he could to see Jesus- he climbed a sycamore tree. Sycamore trees symbolize strength, protection, eternity, and divinity. It was because of this tree Zaccheus had an encounter with Jesus. Thank God for the trees!

However, I could go on and on about trees’ value, but I will only mention one more. The wood of one particular tree constructed the cross, and we know that cross led us to eternal life. We all need trees in our life. Trees can support us during challenging times in our lives. Trees that we can lean on when our heartbreaks and we are in despair. God planted trees to help us before we ever came to this life. Trees come in many forms- people, opportunities, and things that come our way. Thank God for the trees!

Therefore, I want to encourage you to depend on the trees God has put in your pathway. You don’t have to walk alone ever. There is no need for disillusionment, frets, or worries. Maybe God has not sent your “sycamore tree” yet, to be your husband or significant other, but he has other trees to help you along your journey already in place to stand by your side and encourage you. Don’t give up or give away your joy. Let God’s love and his provisions comfort you, my sweet sisters. I understand what some of you are facing and going through. Each time you hear of someone else blessing, you yearn more for your own.

As I conclude, lean on your trees, and when you can- be a tree to someone else. Trees represent physical and spiritual nourishment. They are powerful symbols of growth in nature and resurrection. Thank God for the trees! And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:3. I’ll be back next week with a new post, ” Is it Ok?”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

Amen! Thank God for the Trees!
I particularly love the shade that trees give when the sun is beaming down on a hot day, and, all of the beautiful colors of their leaves in the Fall! As my favorite, I have always been drawn to the beauty of the Maple tree, and was encouraged when I learned that it is a symbol of strength and endurance.
Thank you for sharing these heart-felt words that remind us to use the many positive symbols that we can draw from the trees, both on the natural and the spiritual, that it may help us to Stay Encouraged in these trying times!!! Thank God for the Trees! !!!
