Today’s post is from Latasha Pulling’s heart. I am grateful for her taking time out of her extremely busy schedule to share a few words with us.
My pastor always says that people are in one of three seasons- getting out of a trial, going into a trial, or in the midst of a trial. To the ordinary person, this could be very discouraging. However, as believers in Jesus Christ, we can hold onto his promise from Psalm 55:22 AMP- “Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail). [1 Pet 5:7]”. The Lord commands us to cast or throw our burdens (worries) on to him. I imagine our beautiful Savior carry sacks so heavy to me, but light as a feather to Him. We have to remind ourselves that He cares about our troubles and He wants us to release them to Him with no give backs. Leave it there! There is no need to cast our burdens and try to take them back in our possession. Our cares are His cares, too. He will uphold us and will not allow us to fall in any of our seasons. I will leave you with a beautiful hymn to remind you how sovereign our God is — despite the season, cast your burdens and leave it there.
Charles Tinely- “Leave it there”
If the world from you withhold of its silver and its gold,
And you have to get along with meager fare,
Just remember, in His Word, how He feeds the little bird—
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
·
- Refrain:
- Leave it there, leave it there,
- Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there;
- If you trust and never doubt, He will surely bring you out—
- Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
If your body suffers pain and your health you can’t regain,
And your soul is almost sinking in despair,
Jesus knows the pain you feel, He can save, and He can heal—
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
When your enemies assail, and your heart begins to fail,
Don’t forget that God in Heaven answers prayer;
He will make a way for you and will lead you safely through—
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
When your youthful days are gone, and old age is stealing on,
And your body bends beneath the weight of care;
He will never leave you then, He’ll go with you to the end—
Take your burden to the Lord and leave it there.
Be encouraged and hold on to the promise of the Lord.
Warm Regards,
Latasha Pulling
Beautifully said Latasha. Thank you for this encouraging word. When we leave our cares unto the Lord and understand we do not control anything, you will have peace that surpasses all understanding. Let go and allow God to work it out in his time. He will provide you all the tools needed to sustain you at whatever phase of trial you are in.
Thank you, Nicole, for responding to Latasha’s post with those insightful comments. God bless you, and Heaven smile upon you!
