As we are ending our Thanksgiving season, one of the most beautiful seasons of the year, let’s remember how others love us. Sometimes, it is easy to forget how loved we are as we face so many challenges in life. But do you realize during challenging times, you need to “Stay In Touch With The Ones Who Love You!” Facing our difficulties alone is no fun and usually not necessary. I often wonder why people run in the opposite direction from those who care about them the most. Have you ever thought about that?
First, we must realize that God will always have someone to be by our side when we trust Him with our fears and problems. It may be a family member or friend. Leave the details up to God. Why? Because He does all things well! As we yearn to have more normalcy in our daily lives, we must learn to cherish and lean on others. That means you must “Stay In Touch With the Ones Who Love You!”
Secondly, if God has blessed you with a loving church family, you are genuinely blessed. Through happy and sad times, they will be there for you. I know. Next month on Christmas Eve, will mark the sixth year of my mom’s death. My church family was with me during every step of my grief. I cherish my relationship with my Pastor, First Lady, and my sisters and brothers in Christ. Even though we do not have church service in our physical building because of the pandemic, technology allows us to see each other weekly.
Lastly, I know that holidays can make a person often sad because loneliness can creep in. But, that is if you make room for it.”Stay In Touch With The Ones Who Love You!” Those bonds and relationships can help you in meaningful ways. So, if your feelings and emotions cause you to want to run away at times, run. But, go toward the ones who love you and will support you no matter what. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. St. John 6:66-68. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Joyful Expectations!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
