“Something New!”

Something old, “Something New!” Have you ever asked God to do something new in your life? Newness may be in the form of a job, a new home or car, or renewal of health or a relationship. Whatever form the newness comes in, it is usually welcoming in our life. Let’s not forget to ask God for spiritual newness, which tops everything new. One of my granddaughters likes to repeat the word new to Tye Tribbett’s song, “New.” Indeed everything is new! Furthermore, when we think of something new, it often brings about joyful feelings.

On the other hand, sometimes new things, whether human or material, can also generate different feelings. For example, although I was happy about the position when I became a principal, I was also a little nervous. The unknown can cause us to feel afraid while simultaneously we feel joyful. Does that make sense? I am sure you have plenty of “Something New!” examples that stirred up some anxiety. Nevertheless, getting something new can be exciting.

Therefore, change in many forms can be good, such as changing our outlook on life. Often we get stuck in a cycle that keeps us doing the same thing repeatedly. Or we become afraid to do something different because of what someone else may say about our actions. However, one thing I have learned in life is that people do what they want to do, so why shouldn’t you?

As I end this post, always consult God for the green light, and listen to Him. Sometimes we run ahead of God because we are human. We all have been guilty of this. But, as I always say, life is too short, so don’t be afraid to try “Something New!” sometimes. Hence, you may end up with a fantastic surprise. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. Psalm 40:3. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Heart Protection!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!
