A new year is a great time to look over our lives and see what needs to stay, what needs to go, and what needs revamping. “Reassess!” We should never feel we have it made or we have arrived, because if we do, we are only fooling ourselves. No one else, and certainly not God. Exploring our relationship with others and with God will reveal many things. Sometimes things are not what they appear to be. Often, the feelings we have are the result of things we have done or not done in the past. For example, on the natural side, does someone you once felt close to appear to be distant towards you? Have you ever thought why? It may be time to reassess who you are and what role you might have played in the disconnect. “Reassess!”
Same thing on the spiritual side. If your relationship with Jesus seems to be losing ground or not as sound as it used to be, it’s time to reassess who you are. Specifically, is your prayer life solid, do you read the bible daily, and is your relationship with others loving and kind? Answering no to any of the questions means it is time to “Reassess!” your connection to the Lord. Simple and plain, if our walk with the Lord is not the same and moving in a negative direction. We must reassess who we are spiritually. After all, the goal is to draw closer to the Lord, not further away.
In the end, only what we do for Christ will last. Everything else is in vain. Dear readers, don’t waste a minute on trivial things. The end is nearer than we think. To stay in the spiritual race with the hope of being victorious in the end, every day should be a day of examining ourselves. Undoubtedly, when we do that, we will see the need to “Reassess!” our standing with God. Let’s do it today! And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: Acts 17:30. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Realign!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!

Very well stated. “If your relationship with Jesus seems to be losing ground or not as sound as it used to be, it’s time to reassess who you are.” This made me think that also on the flip side, if our relationship with God appears to be getting stronger, and we are gaining ground in our walk, that we should reassess how God is moving in our lives in the present. And also, speaking for myself, I have learned that when closeness of some relationships change, sometimes God is simply moving them out of our lives, and not because we did anything wrong. We may need to reassess these relationships, for their season in our lives to be close to us, may be over, and we may need to just let go and keep-it-moving forward. For He may be preparing to bring someone else in our lives for our good, that fit into His plan for us in our new season.
I totally enjoyed reading this, for it made me think about reassessing some relationships in my life on the natural, and reassessing what God is doing in my life in the now!
May God continue to bless and keep you my dear sister-in-Christ!🎶🌟
I love the different viewpoints you stated! So many ways to look at reassessment. However we look at it, it should be for the perfection of our lives through Christ Jesus. Thank you so much for those thoughtful words of wisdom. Love them, love them, love them. God bless and keep you, my dear sister-in- Christ!
