“Real Talk! Is It Wrong?”

Well, here we are for our last (for now) real talk session. I want to read your comments on this topic. “Real Talk! Is It Wrong?” You may be wondering what may be wrong or thought to be inappropriate by some individuals. Here we are. We often talk about how sisters desire companionship through dating or marriage. Nowadays, the picking can be pretty slim. Homosexuality and other blatant lifestyles are on the rise. Our dear sisters often have a longing or desire to have someone special in their life. Understandably we all know that God is the provider of all our needs. Whether in relationships or other matters, weariness sometimes creeps in, and patience dwindles.

Hence the question is, is it acceptable to date someone who your close friend or relative had a relationship with once upon a time? There is a saying that one man’s rubbish is another man’s treasure(something like that, anyway). Otherwise, if someone no longer wants a person in their life and you have a relationship with that person, should you date what they no longer want? “Real Talk! Is it Wrong?” Do you know of any instances where someone you know is no longer in a relationship with someone? And subsequently, their close friend or family member is now dating the person. Suppose it could all be very awkward, but the question is, “Real Talk! Is It Wrong?”

Indeed no one can dictate what another person’s heart desires. But when emotions and feelings may be affected by one’s actions, there is something to consider. To this end, think about how you would feel if your best friend, sister or cousin, etc., became involved with someone you once was in love with or dated. Can you attend family or other gatherings together with the new couple? Would their relationship affect you in any way? Moreover, do the circumstances of the break up determine anything? Enough questions. How do you feel about this matter? “Real Talk! Is It Wrong?” And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.  2 Thessalonians 3:5. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Choose Them!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

Sister Jackie
