“Putting the pieces together one piece at a time!”

During some point in our lives, we have all experienced feelings of brokenness.  The feeling of brokenness is not merely just one aspect of our life is broken, but it usually results in several broken pieces that take away our wholeness as an individual.  This can be very daunting and difficult for Christian women who through all of the pain of being broken, yet have a desire to follow and live for Jesus Christ. Being a woman of God in ministry my walk and my talk had to reflect the image of God and His principles. My circumstances didn’t offer me a free pass to act unbecomingly being a holy woman of God. Believe me, I wanted to as I went through difficult and hurtful experiences.

Brokenness also impacts those who love and care about our well being. We often put on a mask, which will be discussed in my next post. Feelings of brokenness sometimes can be so overwhelming that our focus leaves God and centers on the broken pieces of our life. This causes us to fall deeper and deeper into a hole of brokenness. It was only when I took my eyes off of the hurt and pain and focused on what Jesus would do about a particular situation and applied His teachings that healing could even remotely begin.

Life is so much like a puzzle, made up of many pieces.  Sometimes those pieces become broken and no longer stay or fit together to make us wholesome.  Wholesomeness promotes good health and a sound mind.  We are more apt to be physically, emotionally and morally stable when we are whole. As we take this journey together, I will discuss how the pieces slowly, but assuredly were able to come back together in my life. Most of us are familiar with the nursery rhyme, “Humpty Dumpty.”  We are told that Humpty Dumpty had a great fall and all the King’s horses and all the King’s men couldn’t put him back together again.  Well, we sometimes are knocked down and it appears that we will never be whole again, but I know that God is able to pick up the broken pieces and put us back together again.  He did it for me. I really appreciate you taking the time to read my first post.  I didn’t get here overnight and it’s still a process, but the joy of the Lord is my strength! Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. Psalms 34:19. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Taking off the Mask!”

Be encouraged and God bless!

Hello! So happy for you, I know it is a process and you are staying to your word and going through with it! I have a question.. You said “It was only when I took my eyes off of the hurt and pain and focused on what Jesus would do about a particular situation and applied His teachings that healing could even remotely begin.” How does someone look away from the hurt and pain, I feel that’s the first step, but also the hardest. I know me personally, I’ll “get over it” until something brings it up again and I’m back at square one…

      Dear BB,
Thank you for your kind words and support. Yes, you are absolutely correct in saying the hardest step is looking away from the hurt and pain. When we take our focus off of the hurt and pain and focus on Jesus we can heal, but we often do as Peter did when he walked on water. Remember Peter asked Jesus to let him come to Him on the water and Jesus said, “Come”, but when Peter saw the wind was boisterous, he was afraid and began to sink. What happened? Peter took his focus off of the one who would keep him from sinking or being hurt and focused on the troubling wind. When we are hurt and in pain we play a game of “give and take”. We give our hurt and pain to Jesus, but as soon as something reminds us of it our focus leaves Jesus and goes right back to the pain. We give Him the pain and we take it back. We have to trust Him with our heart and our pain. One of His principles is to forgive. I will be doing a post on forgiveness. In order for me to heal, I had to forgive. True forgiveness takes away not the memory of the incident/s that caused the pain, but it removes the stain of the hurt, thus allowing us to continue moving forward and not going back to where we were. Hope this helps for now. God bless you.

What a beautiful post! I’m so happy that there is a place to share and sort out the hurt of love, with the spirit of love and healing from God. I pray that you touch and transform the lives of the many Christian women who struggle with playing by the rules when so many others in our lives do not. It’s hard to see a win when all players aren’t playing fair. Great Job! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Thank you so much Petrina for your kind words and support. I love what you said, “share and sort out the hurt of love, with the spirit of love.” Love truly conquers all and it is the love of Christ within us that will heal our broken heart. Yes, it is often a true struggle for Christian women to play by the rules . No matter how badly our heart is broken we have to walk upright and be a light to others. We aren’t given a free pass to lie or cheat or be deceitful because we have been recipients of those very things. Yes, it appears sometimes the more we do right the more we are wronged, but be not deceived God is not mocked and whatever a man or woman soweth, so shall they reap. Therefore, it’s hard I know because there were times when I felt that I was losing more than winning and I was following the rules of faithfulness and integrity. Nevertheless, in the end I know that I am the true winner. Let the redeemed say so! God bless you.
