Life has a way of causing us to either move forward, stand still or fall back. Just as good times have a season, so do trials, tribulations, and challenges. Troubles won’t last permanently. One of our church visitors gave a compelling testimony one Sunday, and her crucial word was “Push!” As I thought about the term push, it made me think about everyday survival in today’s world. Some days getting out of bed for many individuals requires a “Push!” For others making it through the day takes more energy than they have to give. Hence without a desire to move forward, standing still or falling back in life is the next move.
Despite how hard life may seem, giving up or quitting is not an option. Everyone needs to “Push!” at some point in this life. Pushing may entail going above and beyond what you want to do. Giving in to our feelings and emotions can hinder our natural and spiritual growth. Has there ever been a time you didn’t feel like going somewhere like church, work, or some other meeting place? Did you succumb to the feeling or consider the consequence of your behavior, leading you to “Push!” and go forth?
Finally, my sisters and brothers in the Lord, be strong and “Push!” forward even when you feel you don’t have the strength to do so. Do you know why many relationships fail? Because one or more in the relationship won’t push forward to make situations better. Hence our health may dwindle because we won’t push ourselves to exercise or eat properly. Giving up and giving in is the easy way. Doing so causes one to surrender joy, peace, and contentment, to name a few. “Push!” to bring peace, improve your health, succeed at your job, and, most importantly, obtain more spiritual growth. “Push!” push until you move beyond what you are experiencing and going through.
Without a doubt, we all will be better if we learn to “Push!” If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace. Exodus 18:23. I’ll be back next week with a new series called “Real Talk.” I invite you to send topics that you would like to discuss. Topics can be relationship issues or other matters.
Be encouraged, and God bless!
