“Protect My Peace!”

We have barely entered the new year and are so grateful that we did. But, every trouble and heartache did not get locked out of 2023. I am writing this post actually on January 4, 2023. People are praying around the country for healing for the Buffalo Bills’ safety who sustained critical injuries during an NFL game. Let’s continue to send up prayers on his behalf. The Republicans in the House of Representatives are in chaos over the selection of a House Speaker. A child lost his life to a hit-and-run driver. I could continue with the calamities of these first few days of this new year. Is there peace anywhere in homes, communities, our country, etc.? Lord, “Protect My Peace!”

I attribute this topic to one of my dear friends who made the statement, “Protect My Peace!” during one of our conversations. Hence, as I thought about peace, it’s worth protecting. Peace is everything, and without it, we accomplish less in life. Accordingly, we must do as much as possible to protect our peace. Without a doubt, we are living in the last days. Trouble comes from the north, south, east, and west. Granted, we hold little control over most matters in life. Many hardships appear unavoidable. However, we do have an advocate covering us even when we cannot see or understand things happening in our personal lives or the lives of others.

Be reminded that our safety net is in our Savior and creator. Sometimes we have to fight for our peace. How do we do that? Rely on God’s Word, and trust Him even when we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Choose joy above all else. Use what God has given you to stand amid trials and tribulations. Don’t give up or give in, or go along to get along when your peace is at stake. Tell God, “Protect My Peace!”

Therefore, when life’s struggles, people we love hurt us, or tragedies move to our inner circle, don’t give up your fight for peace. Cleave to it, protect it with all your inner might. Lastly, we must seek peace in all of our relationships. When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Make A Commitment!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

This encouraged me, this year started off a little rough with both my son and I getting COVID the same week my husband is out of town for work, and I have a demanding work week. I almost started to get discouraged, but I decided to just do what I can to make it through one day at a time and God has given me grace for it. Thank you for sharing this, I’m happy to say that my peace is in tact even with a challenging week ahead.
