Giving thanks during this lovely season of giving and sharing, let’s make sure that we give thanks as we pray. You may say that you do give thanks, and I am sure everyone expresses gratitude during their prayers. However, I am talking about praying with one focus: to give thanks, not to ask for anything. Sometimes, regardless of what is going on in my life, my prayers consist of only words of thankfulness. Think about it, we don’t always want our children, family members, spouses, or whoever to only ask us for things. On the contrary, take time to say thank you for the many blessings you have. “Prayers With Thanksgiving!”
In conclusion, I believe you understand the message. Life can be challenging, overwhelming, and messy more often than we desire. But God! I am a witness, despite what comes my way, trusting God will be my best assurance. We are nearly at the end of another year, and each of us can reflect on the awesomeness of God. My life experiences this year have been nothing short of miraculous. Therefore, some of the prayers I utter have to go beyond petitions and supplications. They must clearly express nothing less than my gratitude. Thus, occasionally, do not ask for anything at all; just give thanks to the God of our salvation, who gives us more than we ask for. When we give thanks, we open the door to further blessings. “Prayers With Thanksgiving!” O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever. Psalm 107:1. I’ll return next week with a new post. “Slow Down!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
