Much is happening in the world and all around us, even though we are now in a beautiful season. But, the season does little to bring joy to some people because worries and concerns consume their minds. However, worrying doesn’t take us anywhere but down a desolate road. I spoke of joyful expectations in my last post, but it is hard to have joy when a person lacks peace. Oh my, how we all need some”Peace, Peace, Peace!” Nevertheless, having peace may not be simple for many people. Why? Because peace must begin within one’s self.
Accordingly, we can sing about peace, talk about peace, desire peace and even try to run after peace, but if we don’t have peace within us, it will elude us minute by minute, day by day. Seeking peace from external matters will not be lasting because if situations change, the peace may not stick around. I think sometimes we have spurts of peace. What do I mean? We could feel some peace concerning individual matters, while other things trouble us to the extent that we are so anxious that peace is not present in another situation. We all need some “Peace, Peace, Peace!”
When I recently heard about the following variant of the coronavirus (Omicron), my first thought was to be concerned because I was hoping we were continuing to move forward out of this pandemic to more normalcy. At the time of my writing this post, we are just hearing about it. By the time this post will post, we will have more information. But you know what? I decided not to start a new worrying set but to fully put forth my faith that God can and will turn things around. Peace concerning our present condition has to start within me. Faith is part of that beginning. We all need some “Peace, Peace, Peace!”
As I end this post, remember, regardless of what you face in your life. Whether hardships or lack of personal relationships, which causes sadness for many women and some men during the holiday season, make peace within yourself. Real peace begins within. Once we have real peace, we are more joyful and not easily hurt or shaken. Lord, we pray, give us “Peace, Peace, Peace!” this season and beyond. Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied. Jude 1:2. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “My Only Wish This Christmas!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
