One of the greatest things that most people desire is to have peace. During this beautiful season of the birth of Jesus, the angels proclaimed peace on earth and goodwill toward men. Jesus wants us to have peace-A peace that will surpass all understanding. But, all the Christmas lights, tinsel, carols, and gifts alone can not bring joy or peace to individuals; only God’s grace and mercy can do that.
I am writing this post to those of you and, most notably, one of my readers who is agonizing over past mistakes, thus hindering having peace during this Christmas season. I know what it is as I am sure we all do to lament over past regrets, but it’s time to let them go. There couldn’t be a better time than right now in this season. I have had several conversations with this particular individual. I try to give comforting words as God gives them to me, encouragement, and prayer, but the person is yet having difficulty in letting go. One day, I finally told the person I don’t know what else to say, and the individual laughed, understanding that I was exhausting all within me to help. But, I don’t give up easily.
I know what the person is going through. Due to their negligence of not valuing the person God had given them, they ruined what was to be a beautiful life together. Even though the person knows that the one they have hurt has forgiven them and hold no malice, the person is yet struggling with forgiving themself. In a past post, I wrote about the importance of forgiving one’s self. Without, self-forgiveness, it is hard to move forward. Jesus came to this earth to heal, forgive, and save. I appeal to this individual and everyone struggling during this season to remember the reason for the season and what Jesus came to accomplish here on earth.
Lastly, I reminded the person to value what they do have now and to do their best to make the life they now have with someone else the best possible. I remember an old secular song from years ago, which says, “If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you with.” Once you have lost someone and you make a life with someone else, that’s usually when the light bulb comes on, but unfortunately too late.
As I conclude this post, I remind everyone to be careful how you treat your significant other or spouse because the grass may not be greener on the other side of the fence. Once you lose a precious jewel, you may not have the opportunity to find it again; when you have peace, hold onto it for dear life. Chances don’t always come twice! And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:13-14. I”ll be back next week with a new post, “Give Yourself a Gift to Remember!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to forgive yourself for your own mistakes. I struggle with that from time to time. Your post reminded me that God’s peace surpasses my understanding and to find my value in Him. ❤️
Amen! Nothing can compare to the peace that He gives us! May His peace give you joy during this season and beyond. God bless you and thank you for sharing.

Another blog full of wisdom from the word of God and experiences; You are on target once again; Jesus said; “My peace I give you, not as the world giveth:”
Only God can give us peace/rest that has nothing to do with tangible things. Since Jesus is the prince of peace, and He has given us His peace, let’s receive the gift.
Remember, the opposite of peace is worry. One worries when there is a problem with no resolution/answer.
Jesus is The Answer.
Merry Christmas to all and may The God of Peace and Live continue to bless you in Spirit, body and soul.
