“Not to be Broken!”

There are some things in life that we purchase that require careful handling. Why? Because we don’t want them to break. Anything that we value that is fragile, we will take good care of it so that no fractures or breaks occur. We do that with simple materialistic objects, so how much more should that be done with our lives. I am not to be broken, and neither are you. Sometimes the situations we have to face in relationships appear to have been designed to break us, but God wonderfully and fearfully made us, and it wasn’t for us to be broken and shattered like a piece of glass. More times than not, our woes and hardships come to make us stronger spiritually. I was recently speaking with someone who is struggling within a relationship. The cause of the discord generates from the individual’s past behavior. They are trying to redeem themself now and do better.

But as we all know, there are consequences for our actions. Even when we may be trying to do and be better, the other individual may still be struggling with things that occurred in the relationship during prior times. The individual I spoke with feels it might be easier to walk away and not have to face more pain. What we all have to remember is whatever one soweth, at some time or another, reaping day will come, but if we genuinely want to make it to the finish line, we have to persevere and remember that we can make it without breaking. In 2020 we want to envision our life differently. It’s time to lean not to our understanding, but try to see what God is saying to us.

I remember years past when I felt that some of the things I had encountered in my marriage would have broken me if I had not maintained my hope in God. Let me tell you, it doesn’t matter how saved you may be, or holy ghost filled life can turn up some storms that will have you in such a tizzy that you know only God can bring you to peaceful shores. But, even with that knowledge, there is a struggle to survive. We are human. I sometimes wondered what is happening. I felt I hadn’t done anything in the marriage to warrant such behavior from my spouse. Neither was I retaliating for my mistreatment. But, God in His own infinite time showed me, “I won’t break!” and it wasn’t about me, but about what He would accomplish through me.

Because I held on victory was mine in the long run. Is everything perfect in my life now? You already know the answer to that rhetorical question. Nothing is ever perfect for too long, if at all, but peace and joy reign in my life. If I had given up and broken down and negatively represented God by my behavior, I wouldn’t have been able to tell someone else what God will do and that he is a healer of the broken-hearted and a sustainer of our life. I do know that God had a plan for my life, and part of the program was to be able to minister to other women who are going through brokenness. Whether our heartaches are unwarranted or self-inflicted, God wants us to know we don’t have to break. Hold on, I say to everyone, no matter what 2020 may send your way. Some things, but not all things will be easy to go through. Know that God is in control and will strengthen you and me as needed if we faint not. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psalms 139:14. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “In the Recovery Room!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

My struggle was never about me, but what God can accomplish through me. Sometimes, I have to take a step back and look at the whole picture. There is a reason for everything. God allowed certain events to happen to strengthen me and be a resource to others. Thank you for this post Mrs. Jackie 🙂

Right on Jackie; we don’t have to break; however, I speak to those of us that have been broken at one time:
“THE POTTER WANTS TO PUT YOU BACK TOGETHER AGAIN”. and that He will do right well.
