The heart is the core of our being. On the natural side, the heart pumps blood to deliver a continuous supply of oxygen and other nutrients to our brain and other vital organs. It is our lifeline. When the heart stops beating, life is fleeting. We cannot survive without a beating heart. In the same token, spiritually, the heart is the center of our being. The Bible clarifies the need to keep our hearts pure and guarded with high importance. Most importantly, we must commit our hearts to God. Only then can you safely, “Listen To Your Heart!”
Additionally, the Bible lets us know the heart is deceitful and desperately wicked; therefore, who can know it? If you don’t know the answer, let me tell you. God knows the heart because He searches it. His vision goes beyond the outer appearance and straight to the core of our hearts. Moreover, strong emotions generate from our hearts. Many Christian women want love and abstinence so that they can honor God wholeheartedly with their mind, body, and soul. Unfortunately, some forget that they can’t trust their hearts always to lead them in the right way. Mainly because flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit. Therefore, you must be careful when you “Listen To Your Heart!”
Point in case, no matter how we may crave great relationships, friendships, and even material possessions; nevertheless, we must not let our heart be the deciding guide in our choices. Out of the heart proceeds many things that are not of God. Accordingly, let me reiterate: Submission of our heart to God is the only way to assure that our heart is not fulfilling worldly desires.
Lastly, as David in the Bible says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God.” Guarding the heart takes prayer and fasting. Without those crucial factors, it would not be wise to “Listen To Your Heart!” Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts. Proverbs 21:2. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “If Helping You Is Hurting Me, It Needs To Stop!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
