It doesn’t matter how close we feel we are walking with the Lord; sometimes uncertainties in life can make us second guess ourselves. Has that ever happened to you? Our strongest days can be our weakest days. What do I mean? When we feel we are all that and a bag of chips(old-time expression lol), something can occur and show us we are not as strong as we believe. That is why we need to keep God at the helm of our life. Evil forces are more present than ever. When deciding anything in our life, whether a personal relationship, a financial endeavor, or whatever, take time to pray. Listen for an answer, and when you receive it, ask, “Is It You, God?”
Primarily, it is so crucial for us to have a listening ear for God’s directions. How often do we say if I had waited or thought about something more, my decision would have differed. I consult God about significant decisions in my life, and I know firsthand that God gives a clear response, even if I don’t immediately recognize it. Nevertheless, I am wise enough to know that the devil also has a prepared response to render. We know the devil can mimic what sounds right and knows what we want to hear. But, what he can’t do is live right. Don’t ever forget that. Therefore, know that his ways lead to pain, hurt, and brokenness. When we desire something, especially concerning relationships, it is easy to be blinded by our desires. Henceforth, take time and ask, “Is It You, God?”
To summarize, my sisters, don’t be hasty or anxious about anything. Life is short, but you don’t want to be miserable during this short journey. As my Pastor said recently in Bible Study, “everything that looks good is not good.” People are calling right wrong and wrong right. You have to know for yourself. Let patience have her perfect work, as James 1:4 reminds us. “Is It You, God?” If the answer is no, I don’t want whatever it is either. That I may know him, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; Philippians 3:10. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Where Is My Hope?”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
