In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And God saw that everything that He made was very good. The best place to always start is at the beginning. As we continue in this new year, let’s start it off correctly. Every relationship has a beginning. I use to tell my staff on the first day of school that our beginning speaks to our end. Otherwise, how we start will indicate how we may end. If you start right, it is easier to end up in the manner that you desire. No one purposely wants to fail, but the lack of proper preparation may lead us to failure.
With this said, take some time to speak to God about your relationships. Sometimes we wait to include God when things start to go haywire, but why not before that happens? Day one of any relationship is the time to include God. The day that you choose to commit yourself is the day that begins your journey.
The point that I am trying to make is sometimes God is not a part of our beginnings. We may not purposely exclude Him, but do we genuinely include Him? I ask this question rhetorically, but I have to admit that I didn’t always include Him from the beginning. It’s more than just asking, “God is this person right for me?” Do we truly take the time to hear His reply? It may not be the same day. Do you remember my post on patience and how it is a weapon that will cause deception to reveal itself? If you haven’t read it, please do as a reminder. The lack of patience can cause us not to have an open ear to God’s voice. Everything takes time. Even God utilized the time to create this world. He didn’t do it all in one day, and He had the power to do so. So, when we don’t hear from Him right away, we shouldn’t become discouraged and not wait on Him.
This year I plan to include God in my beginning in any relationship I may be fortunate enough to have. In turn, I am sure it will lessen my emergency calls to Him and make my ending as enjoyable as my beginning. If you are not in any relationship and ultimately begin one this new year, why not make God an essential part of that beginning. Even more importantly, not only in relationships but whatever we face in 2020, let’s face it with God on our side. Let’s keep Him first in our life from the beginning! Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near. Isaiah 55: 6. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “The next Chapter!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
