Do you remember what it was like to learn how to ride a bike, or roller skate, or maybe ice skate? I do. When I first learned how to ride a bicycle, I was very young and scared. Even though my Dad was teaching me and wouldn’t let me get injured, I worried that I would fall and hurt myself. Well, did I have a few spills? Yes, but I was determined to learn how to ride my bicycle. So, I would dust myself off, and “I Rise Again!”
Well, life is undoubtedly throwing us one challenge after another. There is a more contagious Covid virus, the delta variant. We must take extra precautions in everything we do. Daily supplies and foods are more costly. Some of us live alone or with someone and may experience feelings of loneliness and despair. Each of us has our personal stories of hardship, loss, and disappointments, but do we succumb to these irregularities in life? Or do we say, “I Rise Again!” above everything that has come to challenge me.
Critically, it is no time to waddle on the ground or floor, hold our head down, or feel sorry for ourselves. Life is short and time is fleeting, so look above. Focusing downward, you will see primarily unpleasant and hurtful things, such as sorrow, despair, grief, and pain. But, looking up, you can see love, joy, peace, and more things that are beautiful. If it rains, the sun and maybe even a rainbow peeks through after a while. Therefore, if you are looking downward, looking up brings hope, and you can say, “I Rise Again!”
In the end, it doesn’t matter what keeps you down. Whether it be a relationship, the lack of one, health, or financial issues, there is only one way to proceed, and that is up. Rise above your pain, heartache, loneliness, disappointments, loss, or grief. Tell everything negative that is perplexing or troubling you, “I Rise Again!” Yes, “I Rise Again!” Speaking those three words can make such a difference in your life. Do you believe it? If so, say them. Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me. Micah 7:8. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Come Out of the Boat!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
