Are you experiencing anything in life that makes you want to cry? I ask that question rhetorically, but many individuals would answer yes if I took a live poll. Why? Life has a way of throwing curve balls out of the park. Relationships, finances, health issues, you name it. Nothing is simple in life anymore. Hence, I, too, have situations that could surely bring me to the threshold of tears, but I refuse to cry any tears. “I Can Not Cry!”
Thus, the other day, I was driving and thinking about some situations in my life that other people would most likely call challenges. Undoubtedly, they are challenging, but I refer to them as opportunities for me to give God the glory. However, I didn’t always look at situations in that way, but I am learning daily to give God thanks in all things. Why? Because they are the will of God concerning me.
Therefore, my dear sisters and brothers, I understand the need for us to sometimes sit and cry as a temporary stress reliever. Crybaby? That used to be me! Sometimes, I marvel at myself as I consider how I handle challenging, hurtful, and painful situations. They have come my way unexpectedly with no tears. But God! It feels good not to want to wallow in self-pity and cry until I am bone dry with no tears left. Crying is not bad; if you have to cry, do it for only one night or day and then cut off the tears.
Assuredly, if I start crying, I may be unable to stop. For that reason, “I Can Not Cry!” God has been and continues to be so good to me. Keeping my hope in Him will carry me across the finish line in every aspect of my life. He will do the same thing for you. Praise God; He has given me unspeakable joy and a peace that surpasses my understanding. Wow! I have a testimony that I will share with you, dear readers, one day.
As I conclude this post, remember God sees and knows all about us. He will not allow more on us than we can bear. His grace is always sufficient. So, if life is sending you challenges or heartbreak concerning your relationships, finances, or health, look toward the hills from whence cometh your help. Most importantly, trust God with your whole heart. We know that things happen to each of us that do not bring us immediate joy, but the joy of the Lord is our strength. Therefore, “I Can Not Cry!” Thy tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? Psalm 56:8. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Sifting to Shifting!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
