“Hunted or Hunter?”

Recently, I attended a wonderful Women’s Retreat with an abundance of information shared. They had a dynamic male speaker at this particular conference for the first time. As he spoke on “Appreciating Your Personal Value,” he made some excellent points. Women can get caught up in what others feel about them. Thus, we forget about taking our value from the Word of God. Specifically, when we don’t appreciate our self-value, we allow others to place value on us. With that said, he further discusses how women should not look for a man. I know we have all heard that before. Men love to hunt. So, let them be the hunter if you desire to be in a relationship. Are you the “Hunted or Hunter?” That is my question of the day.

Hence, dear sisters, if hunters like to hunt, it is natural to think they do not want to be in the chase. Something the speaker said that is humorous but most likely true. The hunter does not want the deer to come and jump in his lap. That is not fun. That defeats the whole purpose of the hunting expedition. Personally, I would be afraid of a deer that came to me and sat on my lap. How about you? “Hunted or Hunter?” What is your position? Despite how long the wait may be for your desire to have a meaningful relationship with someone, keep encouragement within. The promises of God are sure. He will give us our heart’s desires when there is an alignment of His will and our life.

As I conclude, which are you, “Hunted or Hunter?” Remember, it is not our job to hunt for our mate. But we can keep ourselves in a position for someone to find. God did not desire from the beginning for man to be alone. Remember that and know God will not forget you. He that findeth a wife obtaineth a good thing. Hold on, my sisters, be not anxious, and trust our Savior. Whether it appears so or not, believe you are next in line for a miracle of love. Not being in the hunter’s seat is much more meaningful and less stressful. When you least expect it, blessings come. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. Psalm 145:9. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Know the Background!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!

Sister Jackie
