“Give Me Strength!”

Do you remember when life was slower? Everything didn’t need to be done right away. People had more patience with others and had more love and respect. Well, time has brought about a  change. The love of many has waxed cold. Families are in disarray. Our neighborhoods, cities, states, country, and the world in general  appear to be on a collision course. Now, put on top of all of that our personal issues.  All we can say to the Lord is, “Give Me Strength!” Those three words I utter when I cannot rely on my own strength. Which is often.

As we navigate this new year, we must prepare ourselves for challenges and the blessings that will surely come. Having a relationship with God doesn’t stop  trials and tribulations from entering our lives. But it gives us assurance that we are not alone. Therefore, when our load gets heavy, we know God will put no more on us than we can bear. Hence, we can cry, “Give Me Strength!!” and know that strength will come. By the same token, let’s spend time teaching the younger generation. They must not rely on what they have or what they know. Instead, they must rely on Jesus, seek His ways, and learn to trust Him. So that when the hard times come, they have an advocate to call upon for strength. “Give Me Strength!”

Therefore, as I close out this post, remember that our reliance on God is to be at the forefront of all we do. On our own, we amount to very little. With Christ, we are conquerors. News and media outlets paint a bleak picture of our society. When I think of what America has become, all I can say is, “Give Me Strength!” My sisters and brothers, let’s stand together in prayer for our country, especially its leaders. Let’s follow 2 Chronicles 7:14 because things are not getting better, but worse. The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation:he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him. Exodus 15:2. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Reassess!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!
