“Faith above Devastation!”

Have you ever seen something that broke into several pieces?  Looking at the broken pieces, you wonder if the item can be put back together at all, and if so will it yet look presentable. As you ponder what to do next and what order to try and piece this thing together, you also have to think about what type of glue or adhesive will hold it best.  So it is with our life. How will the pieces of our broken heart come together? You may ask yourself these questions. Will I look and feel whole, or will I yet harbor ill feelings toward the one or ones who caused the brokenness in the beginning?  Will I be able to move forward? Will the pieces again fit back into the puzzle of my life, or will there still be missing pieces?

When natural things fall and break edges are chipped or completely broken off, and sometimes you can’t even find some of the fragments. You may wonder if the holes in your heart may be too large to fill. They don’t have to be. When we are experiencing heartache or pain in our life, we need something to get us through the hurt. The experiences that we go through can be devastating. A dear friend of mine shared some words of wisdom about faith with me one day. It prompted me to write this post.

When we are living under devastation, our faith has to rise above it.  The glue or adhesive that we need to put the pieces of our broken or fragmented heart back together is faith. Without faith, there is no hope that things will get better, or we will be restored. Faith has to go above what we are feeling.  Feelings of brokenness keep us closer to the ground. It can cripple you if allowed. But,  faith will help you stand through the most trying times and the hard days.   Faith and devastation will never be at the same level. Without faith, the work that you do to help you heal will fall flat, and devastation will win every time.  But, if you can muster up enough faith, just the size of a mustard seed, trusting and believing God for your healing, it can take you above your devastation.

Even when it doesn’t look like things will be better, stand on your faith. It is always darkest before the dawn.  A dear brother of mine would often say, “Midnight is only sixty seconds, and then it’s a new day.” We know that  “weeping  may endure for a night, but joy cometh  in the morning.”  Hold onto your faith, let it rise above your devastation, and watch God work!” For we walk by faith, not by sight.”  2 Corinthians 5:7.  I’ll be back next week with a new post, “A Determined Spirit!”

Be encouraged, and  God bless!

Amen…Brokenness can put us in a very dark place, and, unless it is healed, it can ultimately cause us to hurt others…the old sayings, “hurt people, hurt people” and “misery loves company”, are so very true. Thank you again for these enlightening words, as I believe that we all can relate to at some time, and on some level of our lives, and in our relationships.

I am humbled at what “The Love of God” can do. For truly I’ve learned that “faith” is the key, and “low” is the way. And to be called your ” dear friend” is truly priceless to my heart. I Love You the same too Sis and pray God’s richest blessings continually over take you.

Sis Jackie, God bless you for your inspiring/encouraging words; If words can hurt, they can also heal.
Thank you for healing words and a caring heart. There’s a song (in addition to scripture) that would encourage me during devastating moments “The potter wants to put you back together again”, by Walter and Tramaine Hawkins. Blessings and Peace

Amen! He will do it again and again! I love that song and sang it with the choir years ago. Thank you so much for your encouragement. God bless you!
