Yes, December is a lovely month that holds much expectation and anticipation. Little ones look for Santa and can’t wait until Christmas morning. Those in love look forward to an engagement or taking their relationships to another level. Busy shoppers seek out-of-this-world sales on items they want for themselves or someone else. Children learn speeches, songs, and dances for church Christmas programs. Employees hungrily wait for a Christmas bonus. But, on the other side of the coin are those sad individuals who can’t see their way to the next day because of heartache, heartbreak, disillusionment, and many other issues that tag along with the holidays. But, as for me, I am going to “Dance in the Storm!”
As I mentioned in my last post, I am facing some challenges. To give you a brief story, I had some work done in my home that turned out less than favorable. The worse part is it’s affecting my Christmas holiday. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said a hundred times or more, “I love Christmas!” Nevertheless, life is unpredictable, so we have to adjust and move on for our own sake. I was in my favorite Hallmark store recently and was talking with the manager, who is such a kind individual. She said something to lift my spirit as she spoke of challenges this year, and I spoke of my present woes. She exclaimed that when we are going through difficult times, we must “Dance in the Storm!” I said, Wow! I like that and almost started praising God in the dance in the store!
Summing up, my sisters, if this holiday season is seemingly not as cheery, merry, and bright as you desire it to be, start praising God in the dance! I declare and decree that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Furthermore, we cannot rejoice and be heartbroken at the same time. One emotion will eliminate the other one. Without a doubt, nothing should overshadow the beauty of this season. Remember, the reason for the season is Jesus! Jesus is joy, love, peace, and all things that are lovely and pure.
Therefore, put a smile on your face, and be thankful that things are not worse. If you don’t have a Christmas tree, bright ornaments, lights, and Christmas figures to look at like I don’t, rejoice! And most of all, “Dance in the Storm!” Why? Because it won’t last long, the sun will shine brighter than ever after the storm. I know it will. Greater is coming when the storm is over! Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. Psalm 149:3. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “My Christmas Wish!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
