Let me open with this statement: “What you think about day and night forms your character and personality.” Masami Saionji.
Wow! How often do we think about how our thoughts affect our personality and general well-being? Nevertheless, whether we acknowledge this about ourselves or not, it is true. When we allow our negative or positive thoughts to consume us, they shape our character. Prayerfully, hopefully, we have more positive thoughts than negative ones. But the only way to ensure that is to ask God to “Cover My Thoughts!”
Sometimes, we require a whole lot of covering because, without prayer and fasting, the devil can easily get a chokehold on us. Our thoughts can easily get out of control and consume us, especially when we feel like others are against us, talking behind our backs, or are mean and rude towards us. Believe me, no one is so valuable that we must spend abundant time focused on their foolishness. Let it go! Reign those thoughts in and cast them out of yourself. “Cover My Thoughts!
In conclusion, we all need to keep our minds more on the goodness of God and less on the craziness in this world and in people in general. Consider the source and many times; you will laugh instead of frowning. Some situations only gain speed because we focus on them. Whether a relationship or a coworker or one who you thought was a true friend, let nothing overpower you with negative thoughts. You know yourself better than anyone else. Hence, their labels on you mean nothing in the scheme of things. Lord, “Cover My Thoughts!” Today, tonight, and on and on! Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Romans 12:16. I’ll return next week with a new post, “It’s My Assignment!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
