“Coronavirus (COVID-19), Fear, Faith, and Common Sense!”

A few days ago, my daughter asked me if I was going to write a post on the Coronavirus crisis we are facing. I told her I probably would when God gave me what to say. This morning I took an early morning walk before my granddaughter arrived for homeschooling and childcare. As I was out walking, I was on the prayer line with my prayer partner. As she prayed, God inspired me to write this post today. What we are currently experiencing is something we have never faced with this magnitude. It is causing concern and fear for a lot of people. Not only in America but around the world -We have a pandemic situation. This dilemma is scary for me and probably for you too, but should we be in fear? No. Must we have faith and rely on God’s Word and His promises to keep us? Yes. Doesn’t the Word of God say that He is our refuge and fortress? Yes. Does it not tell us that He will deliver us from the noisome pestilence? Yes. What is pestilence? Merriam Webster defines pestilence as a contagious or infectious epidemic disease that is virulent and devastating. Isn’t that what we are facing-but the Word of God says He will deliver us?

If we ever needed to rely on our faith in God right now is the time and day. School closings have occurred on every level, along with restaurants and retail stores. Many vacations are canceled along with sporting and entertainment events. There is so much uncertainty from day to day. But God, our awesome God, is yet in control! I have addressed fear and faith, now let’s look at common sense. We know that to assist in lessening the spread of the disease, we have been asked to wash our hands frequently. Frequent hand washing is essential to helping not to spread germs in general and should have been a regular practice. It’s so crucial that there are songs about washing our hands. It’s only common sense. There is a recommendation that we utilize “social distancing,” which is the practice of reducing close contact with others. Social distancing is a new concept for churchgoers because we are used to hugging each other and shaking hands. Presently we are told not to engage in those behaviors. Does it take any love away from us toward each other? Absolutely not! There are many ways to exhibit love without touching someone, and one great idea is to ensure that others have the resources they need to survive this crisis. If you have water, food, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. share with someone who is lacking those items. Someone whose job has closed down and not getting paid, you can extend a few dollars to them if you are able. That’s love and means more to them than a simple hug or handshake, and saying God bless you. Bless them by helping to supply their needs.

As I end this post, I have to mention relationships. I am referring to all connections. Let’s love one another. Respect and treat each other well. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath. Value each day with loved ones, family, friends, co-workers, etc. Treat each day as if it is your last day. Life is short and so uncertain. We are in the last days, let’s not ruin our chance of eternal life with Jesus Christ one day. Know that we will make it through this time by trusting God, having faith in Him and His Word, and by using the common sense God has given us. I pray for you and your family that God’s protective blood will prevail and be a covering against this pandemic situation. Don’t panic because this too shall pass! My closing scripture is Psalms 91 in its entirety. Read the entire chapter. I read it every day, and my bible openly displays it on my nightstand.

Be encouraged, and God bless!

AMEN!!!…This is what I am sharing with others too…We MUST Walk in Faith with Our Almighty Loving Faithful God, Our Heavenly Father, and not live in Fear, for God is not the author of fear…Be cautious, and alert, but be mindful to not panic and nor be fearful. And because God is concerned with our TOTAL being, both spiritually and naturally, use godly wisdom and be wise in the natural things also, because we are yet in “human” bodies…Remember to Ask The Holy Spirit to guide us through it ALL. God knows we will be attacked both spiritually and physically. He didn’t say we wouldn’t face or go through hard trials, but He did say that He would never leave us not forsake us…I am holding on to that with every fiber of my being, heart, mind, soul, and body. All of these hard trials may be a surprise to us, but they are not a surprise to God…His way is COMPLETELY “Just”, for He is the only JUST “ONE”. He doesn’t require that we understand, but that we Trust Him completely. Time now for some effectual fervent PRAYERS.

Thank You so much my dear Sister-in-Christ for letting God use you to share these words of love, enlightenment and encouragement for all!!! Be Blessed and stay safe.

“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, love and a sound mind”. He promised never to leave us nor forsake us; so if we feel far from God; Guess who moved.
Jackie, once again, thank you for words of wisdom from the our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,
“Low, I am with thee always”, says the Father.

    Love you my sister

Absolutely. Trust God to protect and yet act wisely. Nothing has nor will happen that our Father is unaware of. If we act in fear we are saying we don’t trust. God tells us to take every single burden to Him. If He loved us enough to redeem He will continue to love us and sanctify us.
