Do you ever wonder why things happen the way they do? Further, when people act in a certain way or respond to situations in manners that are mind puzzling, are you surprised? You shouldn’t be. Why? You have to “Consider the Source!”
During my thirty-two-plus years as an educator, I encountered many different individuals. Sometimes I didn’t understand their ways and mannerisms, but I learned early on that people act and responded to situations in ways that exemplify who they are. “Consider the Source!”
Accordingly, when I was a principal, someone asked me how I could respond to people in such a kind manner as I did when their behavior was quite the opposite. My response was twofold. One way is to “Consider the Source!” and the second from “Amazing Grace” is to look beyond the fault and see the need.
Therefore, when you consider the character of the person you are dealing with, you can understand why they project a particular image. For example, a selfish person will act selfishly. Hence, what you may have to do is look beyond the negative trait to be able to interact positively with the individual.
As I end this post, my message is a simple one. Relationships can be fruitful and thrive even during difficult times, whether personal or professional. Subsequently, you are the deciding factor. Thus, look closely at who you are interacting with and are around. The person is the source of the relationship. “Consider the Source!” in their entirety.
Indeed, we can’t change people into what we want them to be. Only they can do self-changing. After you consider the source and see characteristics not pleasing to you, look beyond the faults and see what need is within the individual. We all have some deficiencies. Some needs you may have to close your eyes to if the relationship is worth it, and other needs may require forgiveness on your part. Whatever you choose, do it with love and kindness, and the results may be more than your expectation. And of some have compassion, making a difference: Jude 1:22. I”ll be back next week with a new post, “Hurting with Love!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
