“Be Yourself!”

One of the posts I wrote early on in my blog posting talked about taking off the mask we sometimes wear. At some time or another, we all will mask who we are. Why? Because often, it’s easier to disguise who we are or what we are feeling. Furthermore, we allow ourselves to be influenced by how others see us. However, we are what God says about us and not anyone else, so “Be Yourself!”

In the many relationships we have, whether personal or non-personal, it is essential to maintain our identity. Does this mean we ignore what others may suggest concerning our behaviors? No. Listening to others may bring to attention some characteristics that are not befitting. As Christian women or men, our lives must reflect our walk and talk. Therefore, it is not wrong to hear what others may see concerning us, but know with assurance who you are. Hence “Be Yourself!”

Additionally, it is important not to lose yourself in your personal relationships. Everyone has an idea of the perfect or near-perfect person they want in their life, but we often don’t get that. Both individuals in a relationship must allow the other person the freedom to be themselves. One of the hardest things in a relationship is when the other individual wants to control who you are. Subsequently, it causes unnecessary stress in the relationship. “Be Yourself!”

To sum up, know who you are and be comfortable with who you are, unless it goes against the principles of God. For everyone else, do your best to be in peace, but not to the point that you lose who you are. If anyone tries to remake and mold you into what they think you should be, “Be Yourself!” and get to stepping! For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Rejection!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!
