We are six days into a new year. Are you still trying to come up with resolutions for the new year? Stop, and think no further. Just, “Be the Light!” A light shines brightly. It cannot be hidden in darkness. If we allow our attitudes, behavior, and character to be a light unto others, then we are on the right road. Many people sit and ponder for days and weeks before the new year, compiling a list of resolutions. Doesn’t the bible remind us to let our light shine before men? How do we let our light shine? By living a spiritual life. Whatever we do, however we live, it must be in correlation with God’s Word. Therefore, seek ways to gain a closer relationship with our Savior. “Be the Light!”
For several years, I have asked God at the beginning of each new year to give me a praying spirit. I can’t tell you how many years later, but last year He gave me my request. I would pray, but I didn’t have a praying spirit. What is a praying spirit? For me, it is a desire and urgency to present myself to God in prayer. A time for me to intercede on behalf of others and to make requests known before the Lord. Almost a year (February 2025) since God gave me the desire to go to church and pray on the altar once a week.
Sometimes I kneel, other times I lie prostrate, and sometimes I sit. Spending an hour or more before the Lord interceding for others and minimally (5-10 minutes of the time for myself) brings me unspeakable joy. I can share more on prayer at another time, but I have one point for now. Consistent and faithful prayer brings us closer to God and aligns us more with His ways. “Be the Light!” You don’t need a resolution to “Be the Light!” And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:5. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Run On!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!

Love it! Very well stated. Your light shines bright my sister-in-Christ. You are truly an inspiration to me. And so true, learning to pray through is a blessing. For a spirit of prayer brings a sense of peace that words truly can not express.
May our God continue to bless and keep you, as He makes your light even brighter!!💕🌟🎶
Thank you for the kind words, Sis. Audrey. Prayer works, and I will continue to seek the Lord more and more through consistent prayer. I appreciate every prayer you pray for me. May God bless you in amazing ways this year!
