We are not meant to live in bondage. When Jesus went to Calvary, He broke the chains of bondage through the shedding of His blood. Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. So then, tell me, my sisters and brothers who are reading this post, why are you living in bondage? Let’s visit the meaning of bondage to ensure a clear understanding. The definition of bondage is the state of being a slave. Who wants to be a slave? Not I, and I don’t think you do either. “Be Free!”
Therefore, why do you allow yourself to be someone you don’t want to be? How many people want to live under the control of someone else? Thus, putting their well-being aside. Yes, it is wonderful to make others happy, but not at the expense of your own happiness and joy, more often than not. Life is often much shorter than we would like it to be. Hence, we should live each day to the fullest. Take time, actually, to smell the roses and not rush past them. “Be Free!”
What I am saying is take the time to enjoy life and do some of the things that make you happy because life is fleeting. Recently, someone asked me if I was tired of traveling, since I have been on the go a lot this year. My reply with a smile was, “No.” There comes a time in all our lives when we can’t move as we once did, or we lack the means or finances to do as we please, or simply have no desire to travel or engage in any activity. So, enjoy while you can. “Be Free!”
As I conclude, let this post serve as a reminder that YOU matter and God wants the best for you. Nevertheless, we have a part to play. We know that faith without works is dead. Henceforth, as much as we trust and believe in the promises of God, there are things He requires of us. Naturally, we must pray, read His Word, and fast as we can. After those essentials, use the strength He gives you to do all things. “Be Free!”
God does not want our entanglement in bondage once He sets us free. What has He freed you from? Are you glad you are free? And if you are not free yet, ask Him to help you free yourself from those situations, people, things, or whatever is holding you back. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36. I’ll return next week with a new post, “Go to the Other Side!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
