“A Time To Clean House!”

Well, it’s Thursday (the day I am writing this post), “A Time To Clean House!” I do housework, mainly on Thursday, because I prefer not to do any chores on Saturdays. This morning I was up at 4:00 am and starting to clean. I did my morning devotional earlier. You may wonder why so early. I always got up early to clean before work when I was working. My children can tell you stories about how they got up early unless they did their rooms the evening before. I love having a clean house. A saying, not biblical though, says, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness. If that is true, then I stay close to God.

First, when we clean on the natural side, we remove such things as dirt, dust, germs, to name a few. Who likes to have clutter, dirt, and dust around all the time? None of us, I believe. So, I have to spend time cleaning, sanitizing, dusting, washing, etc. I am sure you, dear readers, also spend some time doing this. As a result of our efforts, we have an environment that is livable and enjoyable. All because we made “A Time To Clean House!”

Isaac Carree recorded a song, “Clean This House.” If you have never heard it, listen to it. It is a request for God to clean the inner self. Do you ever take the time to ask God to clean you from the inside out? Daily and this is just my opinion, we need to ask God to remove anything within us that is not like Him. A repentant heart draws us into a closer relationship with our Savior. Can you think of anything that God needs to remove from you so that your body, a temple for God to dwell, can be pure and clean? “A Time To Clean House!”

Despite how close we may feel our relationship is with God, daily self-improvement must occur, in my opinion. Critically, as we must consistently clean our physical house to maintain a healthy natural environment, spiritual cleansing is even more needed. We live in dangerous times, and death is knocking on someone’s door more than we like to think. Last week’s post spoke of the beginning of a new season-springtime when new life comes forth. To keep our life in Christ flourishing, we must clean our mind, body, and soul daily. “A Time To Clean!”

To summarize, let’s not only keep our natural homes clean and refreshing but most importantly, let’s remember to keep our spiritual house within clean. Good cleaning tools are communication with God in prayer, reading the Bible, and fasting. Lastly, A repentant heart is like a bleach cleaner for the home. This post is just a reminder that our relationship with God is essential. A clean life causes us to have better, more fruitful, sincere, and honest relationships with others, whether personal or non-personal. “A Time To Clean House!” Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7. I”ll be back next week with a new post, “I Am A Queen!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!
