A winner only wins when he/she has a determined spirit. Have you ever watched runners in a race- Especially in a marathon or half marathon? I have. The winner doesn’t win because they have a lot of money or status or even good looks. The winner is determined to beat all odds and challenges that would prohibit them from winning. They have a focus that doesn’t leave room for anything else. We all have heard, “A winner never quits, and a quitter never wins.” There has to be a determination that goes beyond everything else. I was inspired to write this post after hearing a message from my First Lady. She spoke on having a must in our spirit. In having a “must” in our spirit, there has to be determination also. In dealing with brokenness and heartache, we must be determined to move past that state of being.
It is so easy to do nothing to help our situation. Often we can get conditioned to the state we are in and feel that nothing will ever change or be better. Hanging our head and moping doesn’t take a lot of thought or energy, but doing something about it takes time, energy, introspection, and determination. We must go on and press our way through the hurt and pain. Don’t stop because by doing so, you only get stuck in the mud, and the longer there, the harder it is to get out eventually. To get through anything, you must keep going. You can’t worry about what others think, either. That strengthens and encourages the devil to keep up his torment.
Sometimes our most significant handicap can be the fear of being alone. Everyone wants to feel loved and cherished, but at what cost? Do you settle not to be alone? Remember, happiness is fleeting. Be determined to have joy in your life. You got to have some peace too! How do we have joy and peace in our life? Be committed to making God first in your life. I know so many beautiful young ladies who are not in relationships but desire to be in one. They want marriage and children to complete their life. I do understand. Loneliness can affect many areas of your life, but I tell them to be determined in their spirit to wait on God. Is waiting easy? No, but by not waiting, it only leads to heartache down the line. Pray for determination to hold out for what God has for you. Someone close to me recently shared a saying, “If you don’t like clowns, stop going to the circus.” I laughed, but it’s true, ladies. Don’t settle. Be determined to wait on God. I can’t say that enough. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. Psalms 27: 14. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “To share or not to share!”
Be encouraged, and God bless!
Sister Jackie
Amen Sis,Thank you for these encouraging words. Striving all i know how, to remain determined in my walk with Our God, and determined to keep a “must” in my spirit, to NEVER let go of His Hand,…no matter what it looks like. For He has shown me His AWESOME, incomparable, Love, Might, and Mercy…determined/hooked on it!!!
Please keep me in your prayers, as I do the same for you and yours.
Spiritual determination will lead us to victory over those things in our life that seem impossible to overcome. Keep a determined mind. God bless you and thank you for your comments!
Thanks for sharing and enlightening us in the word.
I too, have decided to have a “must” in my Spirit; not a “might”. As Paul said so deliberately, “I press toward the mark of the high calling of Jesus Christ.”
Jackie, continue to bless others (and myself).
Your experiences were not in vain.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words. Yes, we all need to do away with “might” and be determined to “must” press on because we must. There is no other way that we will make it through life’s tedious journey! God bless you!
I must be going to the circus because I’ve been ending up with some clowns lately!! LOL I MUST stay away from the circus and continue waiting on God
You are not alone. Yes, wait on God because He does all things well! There are no clowns in His circle of greatness! 😊 Praise God! Be blessed!
Being determined is a choice. I love how God continues to give us choices and only wants the best for us. I will choose to be determined to wait on him…. no settling over here. 🙂
Amen! Keep on waiting and standing on the promises of God. Thank you so much for sharing. God bless you.
