“2020 A Time of Thanksgiving!”

2020 has been like no other year. One disaster after another has plagued our lives. I think most people entered this year, feeling it would be a great year- 2020. Watch Service night at my church, I spoke on having a 2020 spiritual vision, a perfect vision for an eye exam. This year has yielded far less than perfection. One consolation I hold onto is the theme and prophetic word from my pastor. He said there would be “Prosperity and Plenty for the Saints in 2020! I must say it is holding steady for me. God has blessed me to give during this season. There is joy in giving to others. 2020 a time of Thanksgiving!

Therefore, my simple message is to be grateful for every relationship we have. Connections include family, friends, spouses, significant others, co-workers, neighbors, and many others you can name. If you are reading this post, you are alive and blessed. If you have your limbs’ activity and closed in your right mind, 2020 is a time of Thanksgiving for you.

Consequently, COVID-19 has changed our lives dramatically, and I don’t know if life will ever be the same. Things will change, but we have a journey before us. There is so much loss from the virus, hurricanes, floods, heartache, and loneliness on some level. Nevertheless, we are yet alive, so 2020 is a time of Thanksgiving for us. Let’s enjoy this season and show gratitude to God and those particular individuals with whom we connect. Value each relationship that you have. Take nothing for granted. Say, “I am sorry,” if need be. Don’t let the sun go down any day with you being angry. Love like your life depends on it because it does depend on it. Know that the sun will shine again, but the rain and clouds should not take away our smiles and joyfulness.

As I conclude, whatever way you celebrate Thanksgiving, whether in-person (be safe) or virtually, say thank you many times throughout the day. Be grateful for being a part of someone’s life and having others a part of yours. I wish you a happy Thanksgiving and continued blessings in 2020. O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever. 1 Chronicles 16:34. I’ll be back next week with a new post, “Stop the Chasing!”

Be encouraged, and God bless!
